Where Faith Meets Fiction

This blog is where faith and fiction come together, bringing the timeless truths of the Bible to life through storytelling, much like Jesus's parables, as He describes how the Kingdom of God is to work on the earth. Whether youā€™re navigating lifeā€™s challenges or seeking hope, you can find the inspiration you need to trust Godā€™s promises and pivot toward His purposes for your life.

Where faith meets fiction, bringing the timeless truths of the Bible to life through storytelling.

I was visiting with a friend group today and happened to wear my Grinch shirt—my version of an ugly sweater. My friend, Linda, said, "Boy, do I have a story for you. I actually preached a sermon on the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.” I replied, "And how did that work out for you?" She began to tell me how she saw Christ’s redemption through a being who had sins committed against him and suffered bitterness as a result of his traumatic experience. She proceeded to say that it was the love that Cindy Lou Who showed the Grinch that eventually caused his heart to grow three sizes that day. He began to love again and regained the Christmas spirit.

Linda’s words sparked something deep within me. How often do we carry the weight of wounds inflicted by others, allowing bitterness to take root in our hearts? The Grinch’s story mirrors so many of ours—wounds that harden us, keeping us from experiencing the fullness of joy and love. Yet, the message of Christ is one of redemption and healing. As Linda shared, it was love—pure, unselfish, and persistent—that transformed the Grinch. This reminded me of how Christ loves us, even in our brokenness. He steps into our lives, offering grace and a chance to let go of the pain that holds us captive.

During this Christmas season, I encourage you to reflect on the transformative power of love. Is there someone in your life who needs a bit of Cindy Lou Who’s kindness? Or perhaps, like the Grinch, you’re in need of healing yourself. Let the love of Christ grow your heart this season, allowing room for joy, hope, and reconciliation. As we close out this year and look forward to the blessings ahead, I want to remind you that the hope of Christ is for you and your family. Let’s carry this message of redemption into our lives and communities.
